Welcome to Farnley Tower Durham.

On the outskirts of Durham City Centre sits Farnley Tower guest house, a prominent Victorian mansion renowned for its architecture and history. 

Our elegant manor boasts an impressive 17 en-suite rooms, each individually designed to provide you with a unique experience. A range of single, double and family-friendly rooms are available, providing the perfect home away from home. A selection of our rooms also offer impressive views of Durham Castle, Durham Cathedral, and the surrounding picturesque countryside.

We provide a freshly cooked breakfast with continental, gluten-free and vegan options. Furry friends are also welcome, and well-behaved dogs can enjoy our establishment for just an extra £15. Complimentary Wi-Fi and on-site parking is available (subject to availability). 

Guests can also take advantage of our onsite restaurant and bar, Holi & Bhang, specialising in authentic Indian cuisine. Join us for the ultimate dining experience, where delicious flavours combine with vibrant spices. Our restaurant's main dining area can cater for parties of 35, with an additional 15 spaces for alfresco dining on our patio area. We can also accommodate private functions, offering a private party room- perfect for any special occasion. 

Farnley Tower is a short walk to the historic city centre, where you can appreciate the dramatic Durham skyline crowned by the imposing Castle and Cathedral World Heritage Site. Arguably one of the most stunning city panoramas in Europe, this centre of history is now home to Open Treasure, Durham Cathedral’s world-class exhibition experience. 

Farnley Tower is open all year round. Check-in times are from 14:00 till 18.30. Please call us before arrival if you need to check in later, and we will make the necessary arrangements for your room.
